Mousumi Sahariya is a popular name for Assamese music lovers. Her sweet and melodious voice has captured the heart beat of many fans. First Assamese Modern Song Album - FAGUNAR SESHATE in 1990 when she was Class V. Her first commercial release was an audio cassette in 1990 which got overwhelming response from her fans. In 1995 her next solo album Tumi Mousumi sold more than 100,000 copies. Moi Mousumi, Morimi Mousumi, Jauban, Mon Nache Ulahot, etc are super hit albums released in the subsequent years. From 1998 to 2001, she had 5 super hit albums released, namely Rongmon, Nache Nache Lage Mon, Kokalore Gagori, Hiyar Morom and Devi Mantra. Two of her best albums are Akashi Ganga, eight nos. of popular songs of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, followed by Manuhe Manuhor Babe. She has also sung for several televisio n shows, films, and video albums.
